Homewood University’s main campus is located in Baltimore, Maryland, one of the most beautiful campuses in the United States [5] . Educational and administrative buildings are located in the magnificent old residences of Homewood House and Evergreen House. There are also residences for students and staff. The process of admission to Johns Hopkins University
Foreign applicants enter on the same basis as US citizens, the admission process differs only in a few additional papers confirming financial solvency (foreign student certificate of material well-being, aka ISCF) and language skills ( TOEFL / IELTS results ).
Undergraduate
The main package of documents includes the following documents:

- SAT Reasoning Test or ACT Test results ( Writing Test section is optional);

If a prospective student is eligible for financial aid , they must indicate this on the main application.
The university does not set minimum requirements for standardized tests. The benchmark for applicants can be the average values for students admitted in 2019: 1480-1550 on the SAT Composite test (new scale) and 33-35 on the ACT test [8] .

Master / PhD
Applications for graduate programs go directly through the university’s website . The set of documents may differ depending on the school and the program of study. The standard list of requirements includes:
- Online application;
- Payment of the registration fee 85-100 USD (together with the application);
- Resume / CV;
- Analytical or academic essay (for master’s degree);
- Sample of written work (for doctoral studies);
- Topic of the future dissertation;
- Motivation letter;
- Academic transcripts of all previous higher education diplomas;
- One or two recommendations sent personally by the teacher/employer;
- TOEFL / IELTS results ;
- GRE / GMAT results (if required by the program);
- Interview (if required by the program).
The minimum threshold for TOEFL iBT is 100, IELTS is 7.0, but may be higher depending on the program.

Admission calendar for master’s / doctoral studies
Each program determines its own deadlines. As a rule, they fall on the first days of January-February. For master’s programs, they also often offer an additional early deadline on November 1 – Early Notification (similar to Early Decision on a bachelor’s degree). The educational process at Johns Hopkins University
Education at Johns Hopkins University is conducted in 51 main ( majors ) and 46 additional ( minors ) areas of undergraduate studies, as well as hundreds of areas of postgraduate programs.
Upon admission to the bachelor’s degree, the student independently determines his specialization, compiling a study schedule from the many available courses. Research supervisors and teachers help them to form their own educational trajectory. Scholarships and Grants at Johns Hopkins University
All Johns Hopkins students in need of financial assistance may be given a financial aid . For international students, there is even a separate category of payments – Johns Hopkins International Student Scholarships . To receive financial assistance, you must make an appropriate note in the application for admission and attach the International Student Certification of Finances Form . The scholarship is calculated individually based on supporting documents, and averages 25,000 USD .
In addition, Johns Hopkins University provides grants and scholarship programs based on individual achievements:
- The Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship is awarded for four years of undergraduate study on a topic, with awards of up to $10,000 PER year;
- The Hodson Trust Scholarship is awarded based on academic merit and can cover approximately two-thirds of tuition fees. With high academic performance, the scholarship is extended for all 4 years of undergraduate studies. However, it is extremely difficult to get it: only the 20 most gifted first-year students become laureates (average score of at least 3.0 / 4.0).
Applications are submitted simultaneously with admission (deadline in January), the results are known by the end of March.
International cooperation and exchange programs at Johns Hopkins University
Each year, hundreds of university students participate in exchange programs and research fellowships offered by departments, overseas universities, and third parties. - In the 70s of the XIX century, the founder of the University of Johns Hopkins donated most of his inheritance – 7 million USD – to create a hospital.
