The Spokane College of English Language School – SCEL – strives to be a student-centered school, offering its students a fundamental basis for preparing and mastering the English language, while using only the most advanced technologies in teaching.
Located in the heart of downtown Spokane, SCEL is directly across the street from STA Bus Plazaand steps away from River Park Square, a shopping center with a cinema, restaurants, food courts and various stores such as the Apple Store, Abercrombie & Fitch and Williams Sonoma.
SCEL students are provided with wireless Internet access throughout the school, including all classrooms and study areas. Downtown Spokane is also a Wi-Fi hotspot, and some of the surrounding establishments, like Starbucks, offer free Wi-Fi to their customers.
EAP Course – University Entrance
This English for Academic Purposes course(EAP) provides advanced ESL students with the opportunity to improve their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Upon completion of the EAP 140 and EAP 145 courses, the student will be able to critically analyze academic materials and express themselves freely, grammatically and logically correctly, both orally and in writing.

Pre-EAP Course – College Entrance
This course aims to develop students’ listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in English.
PRE-EAP is an intensive twelve-week course designed to introduce and prepare students for academic English with an emphasis on developing academic reading and writing skills. The aim of the course is to show students the different storytelling structures, to help them create their own clear, structured essays. Throughout the course, teachers work to increase the English vocabulary of students.
This course also focuses on the development of critical thinking and text analysis at the academic level. In addition, students practice listening skills and learn to take notes / notes. The course includes work in groups and in pairs, discussions; students should prepare a short oral presentation. Active participation and class attendance are mandatory; Limited number of seats.
